Technology
Tech to Conquer Any Terrain
Off-roading is more than big tires. Now thereās a variety of features and technology to keep you in command where the pavement ends and adventure begins.
Sport
Increased accelerator response. Improved performance and handling. A tighter, sportier steering feel all make highway driving almost as much fun as off-road… almost.
Four-wheel drive low is not selectable in Sport mode. Standard on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Wildtrak, Black Diamond, Heritage and Raptor.
Eco
Save your fuel for the trails. Standard on all trim packages, this mode alters engine tuning, focusing on efficiency.
Normal
This default mode is engineered for everyday driving. Itās the perfect balance of acceleration, practicality and performance. Standard on all trim packages.
Slippery
This mode is perfect for when road conditions… arenāt. It lowers throttle response and optimizes shifting for snow, ice or any wet or slippery terrain. Traction and stability controls are made more restrictive for tighter control. Standard on all models.
Sand/Snow
From drifting sand to blowing snow, nothing gets in the way of this mode. It engages the four-wheel drive lock seamlessly, helping to ensure you stay in control.
Mud/Ruts
First it engages the four-wheel drive lock. Then the traction and stability controls allows more momentum-maintaining wheelspin. Standard on Big Bend, Outer Banks, Wildtrak, Black Diamond, Everglades™ and Badlands.
Rock Crawl
Take adventure up a few notches with this mode. It engages the four-wheel drive lock and the rear differential lock. At slow speeds the front trail camera turns on, allowing you to see oncoming obstacles up close. Standard on Black Diamond, Badlands, Heritage Limited, Everglades™ and Raptor.
Baja
This is the ideal mode for high-speed off-road driving. It optimizes the throttle control for better response and torque delivery. Standard on Wildtrak, Badlands, Heritage Limited, Everglades™ and Raptor.
Tow-Haul
This mode moves upshifts to higher engine speeds, reducing the amount of transmission shifting. It also applies engine braking in all forward gears, assisting control on descending slopes. Itās all controlled by how much you press the brake pedal. Standard on Raptor.
Off-Road
Where the pavement ends, this all-around off-road mode comes ready to play. It optimizes accelerator pedal response, traction and stability controls to enhance performance. Standard on Raptor.
Trail Turn Assist
Get ready to run circles around others ā as well as trees, rocks and anything else. During low-speed, high steering-angle maneuvers, this class-exclusive feature applies the brake to the inside rear wheel. This delivers a tighter turning radius. Requires automatic transmission.
Ford Trail Control
For those times you just want to take in the scenery. Just push the button, and this off-road cruise control for low-speed driving lets you enjoy your outdoor adventure even more. Requires automatic transmission.
Trail 1-Pedal Drive
This terrain-taming feature lets the accelerator pedal take total control. Lift your foot off and the brakes kick in automatically. Press down, and the brakes release. It also configures drive mode settings as needed, making off-roading easier.
Discover SYNC 4
Advanced wireless integration, voice recognition, real-time traffic, weather, construction and other features make life on the go easy. Includes Ford Power-Up software updates and simple smartphone integration with SiriusXM with 360L.
